Tour our Farm
Hands-on in a hive
or
From the safety of our Screened in Bee Barn

We are located in Potosi, TX, and would love for your friends and family to take a private tour of our farm! We offer two unique adventures: Option #1 is a hands-on experience in an active bee hive, and Option #2 is from the safety of our screen in Bee Barn! Our goal at SGF is to educate the community about the incredible benefits of honey bees and open you up to a world of tiny organisms doing amazing things for the environment.
Option #1
Hands-on in a Hive
You will be provided with a beekeeping suit to keep you safe while examining the hive. Crissy will explain the tools and practices of beekeeping, the biology of the honey bee, and parts of a hive. This will be your opportunity to ask all the questions while going through the frames. Adults and children 13 years and older can register for the class. The minimum cost for a private tour is $75, which covers 5 spots. The $75 fee is charged at check-out to reserve your private tour. To ensure adequate staff, this tour must be booked two days before the date.
Option #2
Screened in Bee Barn

The grand opening will be on April 5, 2025! Come out for a day of classes, events, and vendors! You can book the Bee Barn from February 28th to November 22nd.

You will be protected in our screened-in Bee Barn. The Beekeeper will explain the tools and practices of beekeeping, as well as the biology of the honey bee and parts of a hive. See close up into a hive of bees! Learn how beekeepers work through colonies and view a queen bee, worker, drone, honey, pollen, wax, and more! Our Private Bee Barn Tours are family-friendly. Children age three and under are free. Children and adults are welcome, but children must have chaperones. Tours are perfect for small or large groups.
